Henrico leaders considering transportation cuts

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - A budget shortfall is forcing Henrico county to consider making cuts to public transportation.

At a work session yesterday, county leaders said they'll come up $700 thousand short of what it takes to fund GRTC service.

As a result, the county proposes cutting one route in the West End, and another in the East End.

Other routes would be scaled back, but not eliminated.

A public hearing is scheduled for June. If approved, the changes would take effect in August.
