CAROLINE COUNTY, VA (WWBT) – In the surveillance video that's gained national attention, investigators say Warren Brown is the gunman hit over the head with beer bottles in an attempted Mr. Fuel Convenience Store robbery. A Good Samaritan was shot four times trying to protect a clerk. But what we don't see is the man the Caroline County Sheriff calls the get-a-way driver.
Winston Oliver the Second was arrested in Chesterfield early Friday morning. He's behind bars charged with attempted capital murder, aggravated malicious wounding, attempted robbery and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.
It's the same list of charges for Warren Brown who was arrested Wednesday. He's the man authorities say we see in the video. In court Friday morning, both men were denied the pair bond after the judge learned of their criminal history.
In court, the commonwealth attorney stated Brown's been convicted of 10 felonies, Oliver 6. Both men have pending cases on separate issues. Brown's due in Chesterfield court next week on a charge of prescription fraud.
Oliver who's been convicted of grand theft auto twice faces three separate charges including threatening a person in three different localities.
The 61-year old Maryland man who was wounded is okay, but employees at the gas station are shocked to learn a second person with a criminal history is now involved into this gripping story.
Both men are expected to face a Caroline County judge on June 25 at 1:00 p.m.
