RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Bank of America recently gave notice to 135 employees in the Richmond region that they will be losing their jobs. The number reflects approximately 5 percent of total Richmond Bank of America employees, according to the company.
"We are committed to assisting associates impacted by this decision, which includes offering outplacement support services. In many cases, individuals whose roles have been impacted by a decline in one business will find a role in another business within the bank," said Bank of America spokesperson Nicole Nastacie.
Nastacie said in an e-mail that the vast majority of cuts are in Card Collections at the Villa Park location. Bank of America has nearly 60 open positions in the Richmond area in addition to 50 new technology jobs recently created, according to the company.
