HENRICO COUNTY, VA (WWBT) - The Richmond Chapter of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association is holding a job fair today that's open to the public.

While unemployment is still high there is some good news: the number of jobs available appears to be up.

But that only means more people, including recent college grads and professionals, are competing for the same jobs.

Experts say when at a job fair you should let employers know you are eager, that you have a work ethic, that you know how to conduct themselves in a job.

The reason for the tougher competition may be the renewed efforts of many to find a job, after giving up in the past.

Today's job fair will start at 1pm Thursday afternoon and go until 5. It's at the Virginia Tech Richmond Center at 2810 North Parham Road in Henrico County.
