UPDATE: Suspect turns himself in after Brook Road Wachovia robbery

HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - Henrico County police have made an arrest in a bank robbery from earlier in the day after the alleged robber turned himself in Thursday.

According to police, Joseph Anderson contacted Henrico Police Criminal Investigations looking for an investigator to turn himself in to in reference to the robbery he committed earlier in the day.

Based on information received during the interview, Anderson was charged with robbery of the Wachovia Bank, located in the 8100 block of Brook Road Thursday morning.

According to police, the suspect entered the bank at approximately 9:25 a.m., wearing dark sunglasses and a white baseball cap with the word "EVOLVE" on the front.  He was immediately greeted by the victim teller who was about to ask him to remove his hat and glasses when he approached her station with a bag and a note.

The subject then moved one of his hands toward his waist as if to indicate that he had a weapon (no weapon displayed). The teller put an undisclosed amount of money along with a dye pack in the bag.  The subject became startled, grabbed the bag and fled the bank on foot.
