Caroline high school student arrested for marijuana

Caroline High School student Charles D. Smart, Jr., 18, was charged with possession of less than a half an ounce of marijuana with the intent to distribute and with the felony distribution of marijuana on school property.  Smart was held on a $1,500 bond.

According to Sheriff Tony Lippa, on Tuesday, May 4, narcotic detection canines were brought to the school at the request of school officials. During the course of the search, marijuana was Found on Smart.  

"I am very pleased that we were able to apprehend this individual. I want to thank Dr. Killough, Dr. Donahoe and the Caroline High School staff for their cooperative efforts in this search.  Crimes involving the sale of drugs to our children are some of the offenses this administration takes most seriously," said Sheriff Lippa.
