RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - More than 600,000 census workers will be taking to the streets starting Saturday.

If they come to your door, make sure to look for several things to make sure they are legitimate, especially a government ID.

Census workers report that 72% of US households have sent back their census forms and here in Virginia things are looking even better—76% of Virginians have sent back the form.

Still, it leaves thousands unaccounted for.

When these census workers go door, they will have government identification, and they should only ask you questions about the census form.

These census workers are trying to get as much participation in this as possible.

That's because based on the results money will be sent back to communities for things like schools and other necessary resources.
