Hamlin's Short Track Showdown at Southside Speedway

Posted by Iva Radman – email

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - The stars came out Thursday at Southside Speedway. Demolition Derby was the word.

The annual Short Track Showdown was a 250-lap modified feature, in two stages, to benefit the Denny Hamlin Foundation featured Denny, Tony Stewart, Kyle Busch, Elliott Sadler, Joey Logano and Kevin Harvick.

Plenty of fireworks and crashes and eventually C.E. Faulk wins the race.

The Denny Hamlin Foundation was created in 2008 to aid in raising awareness and funding for cystic fibrosis research and treatment, and to support other non- profit corporations that focus on aiding children with debilitating illnesses.

All proceeds from ticket sales, an online auction and raffles benefited the Denny Hamlin Foundation.
