RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Petersburg parents might learn more Monday night about options for their middle school students next year.
Last week, the school board met to lay out the options for the "turnaround partnership" for Peabody middle schoolers.
The plan gives parents of sixth and seventh graders the option of sending their kids to an "independent" middle school.
Monday night, school leaders may decide the state's list of four possible companies that can run that school.
The restructuring plan is in response to the Petersburg school system not meeting academic benchmarks outlined in a 2006 agreement with the state board of education.
