RICHMOND, VA (WWBT)--Thursday is the deadline to get your tax returns mailed to the IRS.
Taxpayers who need extra time can file for an automatic extension, but must also do that by midnight.
If you bought the house and want that First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit, you also need to file Thursday.
This will be the last year you can file your state taxes online for free. People who met certain income requirements qualified for the free service.
Governor Bob McDonnell just signed a bill that means when you log on to the state's web site, you'll be given a list of private companies that can help you file your state taxes.
Depending on your income, those companies can charge you anywhere from $10 to $37 to file.
