RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - NBC12.com, one of Richmond's most trusted websites for local news and weather information, has been honored with a prestigious Edward R. Murrow Award. 

The Radio Television Digital News Association honored WWBT-TV with two Murrow Awards. Along with the website, the station also won a regional award for investigative reporting for its year-long coverage of a high profile ponzi scheme.

The RTDNA has been honoring stations with these awards for more than three decades. According to the organization's website, "Murrow Award recipients demonstrate the spirit of excellence that Edward R. Murrow made a standard for the broadcast news profession."
