PETERSBURG, VA (WWBT) - A Petersburg men's shelter accused of being in disrepair is getting a major face lift.
The city council voted to extend the lease on the shelter and to spend $50,000 to replace a leaky roof on the building. The Salvation Army runs the shelter. The NAACP criticized the organization claiming the building is a health hazard.
The roof is expected to be replaced later this month.
