RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - The circus is finally in town, and for many people who waited hours to see the animal walk stroll across the Manchester bridge - it's about time!
That's because there was some confusion as to what time the animal train would arrive. We're told large crowds of people gathered on the city side of the Manchester bridge around 6:30 p.m. They say they found out through a Times-Dispatch article the animal walk would begin around 7 p.m.
Well, in actuality, that train was scheduled to come in closer to 10 p.m.
Many families tell us there were disappointed to have to come back. But - working in the kids' favor - it's spring break so many parents are allowing their children to stay up and out a little later than usual, all to see the bizarre sight of elephants walking across the bridge and through the downtown city landscape.
The animals made their way up 9th Street, over to Clay and then disappeared into the coliseum tunnel. The Funundrum will be here for nine shows over five days.
