Bomb squad called in after house fire

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Residents of one Henrico neighborhood had to evacuate yesterday due to a bomb scare.

It started while fire crews were trying to put out a small garage fire in the 1600 block of Skipwith Road.

They called in a bomb squad after finding something suspicious in the garage.

This after the home owner says the fire began about an hour after she evicted one of her tenants. She tells NBC12 that her former tenant is being questioned by police.

A roommate told us the object looked like a small torpedo.

Henrico police say they have not made any arrests in this case.
