Final community meeting for Richmond budget

Posted by Shawn Maclauchlan

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Monday is the last day for the three community meetings on Richmond's budget.

Mayor Jones' $637 million spending plan for 2011 calls for no new taxes and no major cuts to services.

There are no furloughs, but also no raises for city employees.

The plan would change property tax payments from once a year in June, to twice a year.

The meeting is Monday at the main library on East Franklin Street from six to eight.
