Suspect shoots into car injuring two

PETERSBURG, VA (WWBT) - Petersburg police are looking for a suspect involved in an overnight shooting.

Around 10:00 Friday evening in the 1500 block of Halifax St. police say a suspect shot what they think was a rifle into a parked car occupied by a man and woman.

The couple drove off but called 911 for help prior to reaching the hospital.

Police say the female victim was airlift to VCU Medical Center for a gunshot wound to the upper torso.

The male victim was taken to Southside Regional Medical Center for a shoulder wound.

Police have released few details on a suspect.
