RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - A huge hole in the entrance, shattered glass, and mangled metal - all signs of a wild few hours for the Burger King on Nine Mile Road.

Police tell us a 47 year old driver is charged with DUI after crashing her car into the building.

But, before that, police say she hit an SUV, then hit two parked cars in the parking lot of the Burger King, then kept going into the store.

The mess left the store itself with between $15,000-20,000 in damage and another $15,000 in damage to the other cars involved in the accident.

The driver had minor injuries. No one else was hurt.

That was just one sign of a wild night in Richmond. Hundreds of cars were stopped at several DUI checkpoints set up around Richmond. At least two people were charged with DUI - one person actually had a gun, another carrying weed.

Henrico county tells us they had two checkpoints set up. There were several dui arrests on the west end at Glenside Drive and I-64.

No one was charged with DUI at another checkpoint near Rocketts Landing.
