Petersburg cigarette burglary suspect identity sought

PETERSBURG, VA (WWBT) - On March 6 around 6 a.m., Petersburg police said a male suspect kicked in the front entrance of the Liberty gas station located at 140 E. Washington Street in Petersburg.

Once inside, the suspect jumped over the counter and stole a large amount of cigarettes and put them inside of a plastic white bag as he exited the store, according to police.

This suspect may be connected to other cigarette related burglaries in the Petersburg area.

The suspect is a black male, wearing medium length leather like jacket with light colored gloves, black skull cap and dark pants.
