Police charge owner with possessing exotic animal

STAUNTON, VA (WWBT)--While looking for drugs this week some police officers in Staunton came across a 3-foot alligator.

They say it was living in someone's basement in what they described as a "pond-like arrangement."

The owners are charged with possessing an exotic animal.

No word on if police actually found the drugs they were looking for.
