Student uses knife in fight at John Marshall

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Around 10 a.m. Monday, two male students were involved in an altercation at John Marshall High School.

A small knife was used in the fight, injuring a student.  The injuries were described as minor abrasions, according to Richmond City Schools spokesperson Felicia Cosby.

The injured student was treated at the school and released to his parent.

Both students have been suspended pending a disciplinary hearing.

Cosby said the school has metal detectors but she did not know if they were working properly.

It's not known if the students face any charges.
