An argument outside a Henrico store ended in gunfire, and with the wounded victim helping police chase down the alleged gunman.

That shooting happened just before noon in the parking lot of a Pep Boys on Nine Mile Road.

Police tell us the victim, 25-year-old Ronnie Sneed, had gotten into an argument at the Pep Boys with 28-year-old De'Fredrick Young. Young allegedly fired a gun and the bullet ricocheted off the pavement and struck Sneed in the leg. After a call to the police, the victim got in his car and began following the suspect's car.

The pursuit ended on Wilmer Avenue, near I-95, where Henrico County police officers placed Young under arrest.

A manager at the Pep Boys couldn't tell us why the argument started. Neighbors say the area is not prone to violent crime. Henrico Police are still trying to get to the bottom of just what sparked the incident.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Young will face charges of malicious wounding and use of a firearm in commission with a felony.
