VIRGINIA BEACH, VA (WWBT)--Cold temperatures were perfect for the 17th annual Polar Bear Plunge in Virginia Beach.

With temperatures hovering in the 30s, participants jumped into the chilly waters of the Atlantic Ocean over the weekend.

The polar bear plunge was part of a fundraiser to help raise money for the Special Olympics.

After they emerged from the ocean several people flocked to quickly put on their clothes.
