RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Facing a second winter storm under his still new administration, Governor Bob McDonnell issued the state of emergency based on forecasts.
This gives state agencies the green light to figure out and put resources in place for quick response anywhere they are needed in the commonwealth.
McDonnell said road crews and the Virginia National Guard are prepared to respond.
He also urged everyone else to do the same.
While snow removal in some areas is not up to par for some folks, Lt. Governor Bill Bolling said an additional investment in the process is not needed.
He says it would be a waste of money for equipment that may only be used once or twice a season.
