HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - Henrico school leaders are working on ways to close a multi-million dollar budget gap.
School leaders met for a work session Thursday afternoon. They said the budget must be trimmed by $5-million this year, and $16-million by 2012. However, no programs are being cut, and no layoffs are expected.
The administration does plan on increasing class size by one student, and delaying the purchase of buses and textbooks.
There's still a chance for you to sound-off of the proposal. The board will hold its regular public meeting Thursday night at 7 p.m. It takes place at the Glen Echo Building on Nine Mile Road.
