Henrico faces budget shortfall

HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - New information on the budget shortfall facing Henrico county.

At Tuesday night's board meeting, county leaders said Henrico must trim spending by $16.5 million before the end of June.

Cuts will hit the school system and general government, though it's not immediately clear exactly what will be affected.

The cuts come as a result of the "state" budget proposal and local property assessments--- which are down by eight percent over last year.
