Bodies, plane parts found in sea

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT)--Crews continue to search right now for an Ethiopian Airlines jet that crashed early this morning into the Mediterranean Sea.

Crews continue to find more bodies, 23 bodies so far. Ninety people were aboard. Investigators say the jet was on fire before it crashed just minutes after takeoff.

Lebanese soldiers along the coastline pulled parts of the plane from the water. Naval ships and helicopters are in the sea looking for more plane parts.

The search has been difficult because of high waves and heavy rain. Lebanon has been hit hard by stormy weather the past two days.

The cause of the crash isn't known yet, but police have ruled out terrorism saying the crash was likely weather-related.

The Lebanese government declared a day of mourning, calling the crash a tragedy.
