CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT)--Chesterfield County believes it's losing as much as $2 million per year in tax revenue due to mailing addresses tied to other localities, that's according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch.
The county says there are more than 50,000 and homes and 4,200 businesses that have "Richmond," "Petersburg" or "Colonial Heights" addresses.
There will be two public meetings next week on possible zip code modifications to help benefit the county. The first is next Monday at Monacan High School at 7:00 p.m. Another meeting will take place at Meadowbrook High School next Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
