RICHMOND, VA (WWBT)--A new survey says college presidents are feeling the effects of the recession in their paychecks. A survey by The Chronicle of Higher Education suggests a string of large pay increases for school presidents is now coming to a halt.

The same study also found UVA's president John Casteen's compensation of $797,000 ranked fourth highest in the nation. Virginia Tech president Charles Steger was ranked eighth with a pay of $732,000.
