Attorneys seek to move Farmville murder trial

FARMVILLE, Va. (AP) - Attorneys for an aspiring California rapper accused in the slayings of four people in central Virginia in September are seeking to move his trial on capital murder charges.

Attorneys representing 21-year-old Richard "Sam" McCroskey III of Castro Valley, Calif., are expected to seek the change of venue at a hearing Tuesday in Farmville.

They said widespread media attention of the killings will make it difficult to seat an impartial jury.

McCroskey is charged in the Sept. 18 deaths of his girlfriend, 16-year-old Emma Niederbrock, her parents, and a teenager from Inwood, W.Va.
