RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - "It's hard......it's really, really hard," said " Charlotte Nelson. "It's...almost impossible cause I don't know what to say to the kids."
Charlotte Nelson is praying that her fiancé is not among the hundreds of thousands dead in Haiti after a massive 7.0 earthquake rocked the tiny country. Olguy Pierre-Louis senior is the father of 2 of her children and lived in the country's capital, the worst hit area.
"In my heart....I...don't think he made it," adds Nelson.
Like many others, nelson has called the overseas Citizens Services Hotline and the American Red Cross hoping for answers.
"Communication is a real challenge right now," said Richmond's American Red Cross chapter spokesman, Bill Harrison. "The immediate need right now is taking care of the injured and that is the top priority with the Red Cross and all of the relief agencies right now."
While she waits to hear if her fiancé is okay, she trying to keep the news of the earthquake from their children, until she knows something for sure. Their 2 wedding rings and the wedding dress she bought for their ceremony serve as a reminder of the man she loves hoping for a chance to see him again face to face.
"Olguy we're praying for you," adds Nelson. "The kids and I, my family, our friends. We love you."
