Glen Allen man faces federal charges

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT)--A man from Glen Allen will appear in a Denver courtroom tomorrow accused of causing such a disturbance aboard an AirTran flight. The plane had to make an emergency landing.

Muhammad Abu Tahir was reportedly drunk when he became belligerent and locked himself in a bathroom. The military scrambled fighter jets as the plane made an unscheduled landing in Colorado Springs. The flight had been bound for San Francisco from Atlanta.

Tahir was supposed to be in court yesterday, but that hearing was postponed while officials searched for an interpreter who could speak his native language.
