CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - On Tuesday, Dec. 15, the Chesterfield Health District, which serves the counties of Chesterfield and Powhatan and the city of Colonial Heights, will open a third satellite H1N1 vaccination site in Powhatan County. Individuals in high-risk groups are encouraged to take this opportunity to receive the H1N1 vaccination.

The Chesterfield Health District will continue to operate satellite H1N1 vaccination sites in Chesterfield County and the city of Colonial Heights. All of the satellite locations allow individuals access to H1N1 vaccine separate from other routine services offered at the health department locations.

Hours of operation and locations of the vaccination sites are:

Powhatan County Health Department — Satellite H1N1 Vaccination Site
2375 Skaggs Road, in the War Memorial Building
Tuesday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
Wednesday and Thursday, 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. 

Chesterfield County Health Department — Satellite Vaccination Site:
10185 Hull Street Road
Tuesday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Colonial Heights Health Department — Satellite Vaccination Site:
20 Dunlop Village Circle
Tuesday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Richmond City Health District (RCHD)

Special Events: RCHD entered a contract with Bon Secours to provide H1N1 vaccination for RRHA residents. RCHD is providing vaccine to Bon Secours; the Care-A-Van is coordinating with RRHA to conduct clinics in the RRHA communities 

Two RRHA clinics were held this past weekend at Gilpin & Fairfield Courts. Two more will be held in December: Sat. Dec. 19 at Hillside Court, 9 am to 3 pm, and Sun. Dec. 20 at Whitcomb Court, 11 am to 3 pm.

Additional clinics at other RRHA communities will be held in January, 2010.

RCHD also partnered with J. Sargeant Reynolds (JSR) College School of Nursing to provide h1n1 vaccination on JSR campuses. Clinics were held on the downtown campus Dec. 1 & 2, and on the downtown and Parham campuses on Dec. 9. Follow up clinics will be conducted in January.

RCHD held a walk-in H1N1 clinic this past Saturday at it's downtown location. 

Elementary Schools: RCHD expects to complete all public school H1N1 vaccinations this week. Including 2nd round of vaccinations for students under age 10.

Middle/High Schools: Middle & High school are expected to be completed this week.

Clinics:  RCHD is continuing to offer H1N1 vaccination Monday-Friday at it's 400 E. Cary Street location by appointment, and also on Richmond's Southside in the City Community Service Building at Southside Plaza. Call 482-5506 for appointments.

Chesterfield Health District

Special Events:

Chesterfield and Colonial Heights health departments are continuing satellite clinics. Public response has been very positive.

Locations are 10185 Hull St. Rd. (in the Rockwood Square Shopping Center near Courthouse Rd. and 20 Dunlop Village Circle (in Dunlop Village) in Colonial Heights.

Hours are Tues.-Thurs., 11 am to 7 pm, and Friday/Saturday, 9 am – 3 pm.  For information call 768-7499.

Clinics: Chesterfield Health District's call center7499 is continuing to provide updates to the public regarding H1N1 vaccination site information and vaccine availability.

Henrico Health District

Henrico residents can call 804-501-4151 for clinic times and vaccine availability in Henrico County.

Crater Health District

Special Events: Crater has begun vaccination clinics in over 30 child care centers in the Crater District. These will be completed in December.

Elementary schools: Crater has completed vaccinations in all public & private schools in 8 localities: Dinwiddlie, Greensville, Emporia, Hopewell, Petersburg, Prince George, Surry and Sussex. Second round of vac for publicv/private school children under age 10 will be completed by next week.

Clinics: Each local health department in the district operates walk-in clinics one day per week.

Chickahominy Health District

Mass vaccination clinic at Hanover Health Dept. - by appointment.
