Manchester Middle School holds charity shoe drive

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - A busy afternoon at Manchester Middle School where students are sponsoring a massive shoe drive.

The students were inspired by an article in the newspaper. They've already collected more than 3,000 pairs to be sent to children in Uganda.

We caught up with the students as they put together the donations for shipping.

"The only word I can say is giving absolute giving," said Deborah Bodsford, a Manchester Middle School teacher. "They're not selfish here, they're a very giving community all the way around."

The students hope to collect even more shoes.
