HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - New information about a double murder over the weekend in Henrico County.
Police sources tell us they have no new leads. While the department isn't releasing much information on the circumstances surrounding the deaths, we are learning more about the victims and what neighbors heard just before they discovered the bodies.
Police have finger printed and padlocked the door of the crime scene. But 24 hours earlier, a neighbor tells us, "My wife walked by the door and noticed that it was cracked. And she knocked to talk to Bilan and that's when she discovered the bodies. She came in. She was hysterical. And we dialed 911."
Detectives arrived at the Tree House Apartments on Pony Farm Drive to find a gruesome scene. 26-year old Bilan Bruce and 40-year old Anthony Gillings had been shot to death.
The neighbor, who didn't want to release his identity, described Bruce. He said, "She was really, really a nice person. It's a tragedy that something like that should happen to her."
The man has known Bruce, who is a leasing agent at the nearby Colonial Apartments, for three years. He says he didn't see her Sunday, but noticed her car had been moved at some point. He was home all day and even with walls he describes as paper thin, never heard any signs of trouble.
"It's a real scary time to be that close and to be that quiet," he said.
That fear stems from one main issue: the person or people responsible for these killings are still out there.
"Gun shots you can hear. So these people or that person they thought about this and did it, from what I see on television, real professional like," the neighbor said.
That man decided to talk to NBC12 because he's hoping someone has information about the killings. Police spent all evening canvassing the complex looking for any clues. If you can help with the investigation, call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000.
