RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) – Tonight's featured fugitive is Marvin Christopher Eley. He's wanted by the Richmond Police Department for felony conspiracy to commit murder.

On the afternoon of November 13, gunfire erupted in the 1500 block of Front Street on Richmond's Northside.

With a gunshot wound in his abdomen, the victim fled to Brookland Park Boulevard to find help.

"As the shooting started he bolted from his house and ran up here and flagged down a passer-by," said Detective M.M. Young of the Richmond Police Department.

Police are searching for Marvin Christopher Eley in connection with that shooting. They are still unsure what may have provoked the attack.

"Even the victim is not really sure why either," Young said. "He doesn't know the offender that well, kind of like I said, is an acquaintance.  He knows him from the street."

At 6'1 and 240 pounds, Eley is a big man with the ironic nickname of "Pee Wee." He's had minor run-ins with the law and was actually on probation at the time of the shooting.

Police say Eley is transient making him difficult to locate.

"He doesn't really have a permanent address, he kind of stays with whoever he can stay with that night.  He does frequent the Jackson Ward area, we know that," Young said.

Police need your help to bring Marvin Eley to justice.

"People letting us know where he is, if anybody saw what happened or anybody that we haven't spoken to has information that can be helpful," Young said.

Detective Young is determined to get Eley off the streets.

"If we get him off the street then hopefully he can't hurt somebody else and on the other side of that is that he can't get hurt.  If you live a life a violence it can come back and haunt you in the end," Young said.
