Police impersonator gets three years in prison

HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - A Henrico County man will spend the next three years in state prison for showing a gun while impersonating a police officer.

Shay Mann, 31, was convicted in August for an incident that took place near the Willey Bridge in Henrico County.

According to testimony, Mann pulled over a female driver, then flashed a fake badge and pulled back a coat, to reveal the handle of a pistol.

The weapons charge carries a mandatory three year sentence. Mann said he was sorry for his actions.
