HENRICO, VA (WWBT) – Our featured fugitive is wanted by Henrico County police for parental abduction of her 9-year-old son.
On Friday, October 9, Charmaine Jones picked her son, Antoine Toliver Jr., up from school to keep him for the weekend as usual. When Antoine's father went to pick him up on Sunday, he was in for a shock.
"The child was never returned and her phone had been disconnected and he wasn't able to find her at that point," Wright said.
Police say Jones has been on the run with little Antoine for the last month and a half. She may also be using the name Charmaine Robinson as an alias.
"Multiple family members, multiple friends have all given us the indication that she has no plans to bring him back," Wright said.
Two weeks ago police got a tip that Charmaine was seen on Bolling Road in eastern Henrico County. Although investigators believe Jones may have taken Antoine out of state, she has roots in Henrico County that occasionally bring her back. Her last known address was at 3516 Bolling Road.
"It's possible that she could be hanging around the Creighton Court area. She has family members in Creighton Court, she has family members on Bolling Road, she has family members on Harvie Road as well," Wright said.
Investigator Wright says she doesn't believe Antoine is in eminent danger but wants to get him home safe and sound.
"She knows that she doesn't have custody and she doesn't have the right to have him and she's not bringing him home," Wright said.
