RICHMOND, VA (AP) - Eighty-five solders from Richmond's 276th Engineer Battalion are due back in Virginia after serving in Afghanistan since February.
Most members of the Virginia National Guard unit are scheduled to arrive early Sunday at the guard's aviation facility in suburban Richmond.
About 10 soldiers are due later in the morning at Tri-Cities Airport in Bristol.
The soldiers actually returned to the states last week, arriving at a demobilization camp in Mississippi.
In Afghanistan, the unit known as Task Force Pirate cleared patrol routes, provide security and conducted patrols.
Members of the unit removed more than 15,000 pounds of explosive hazards from Afghanistan's landscape.
