CHESTERFIELD, VA (NBC12) - Another house fire strikes the metro area this one in Chester.
Fire crews arrived at a home in the 12700 block of Parker Lane just after 7:00 p.m.
They say the fire appears to have started in a second story bedroom.
A fire marshall has yet to determine the cause.
Crews did have some advice for all metro residents.
"With the weather turning cold, over the past three days and of course the fire in Henrico County, the best thing we can tell people is make sure you have a working smoke detector at all times," said Chesterfield Fire and EMS representative Stuart Dalton.
We do have to point out, there's no word yet on whether this home had a working smoke detector or not.
The home is currently under renovation.
No residents were there when the fire began.
