PRINCE GEORGE, VA (WWBT) - A search is underway for the person responsible for shooting and killing a Prince George County man early this morning.

The crime happened before sun-up, in the 3700 block of Prince George Drive in Prince George County. There are plenty of questions surrounding this death investigation. We do know the victim is 39 year old William Miller Junior.

"It's shocking. It doesn't make any sense," said the family friend Kim Amos.

Police found Miller on his back in his sister's driveway with at least one gunshot wound.

"He didn't deserve this," said Amos. "Billy didn't have a lot of haters. Everybody loved him. I don't see what could have happened honestly."

The shooting happened around 4:30 this morning. A neighbor, who asked us not to reveal her identity, says she heard several loud bangs.

"I heard six gunshots. I knew it was close by. It's very scary (and) I hope they catch the guy. I hope it never happens again."

The victim's cousin was too upset to talk on camera. She calls the shooting "unbelievable."

Moments before the shooting police responded to a domestic dispute just up the road from the crime scene. Turns out -- the two people involved in that dispute are family members of the shooting victim. Now, police are trying to figure out if the two incidents are related.

Meanwhile, loved ones of the victim are looking for answers. They say they have no idea who would want to hurt Miller.

"It's sad news. Nobody ever wants to know somebody that's been shot to death. He was a good guy. He'd do anything in the world for anybody. He's going to be missed," said Amos.
