RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - You can't miss the 2 cars lodged in the front of a Midlothian convenience store. Just hearing the sound from the crash neighbors knew something was wrong.

"I heard what sounded like 2 dumpsters falling off the back of a truck," said witness, Johnnie Picone. "When I went out there after calling 9-1-1 I heard a woman screaming and I went out there and tried to help her and her daughter."

A white pickup truck ran off the road causing it to slam into the store. Picone was one of the first people to react to the noise. He aggresively tried to turn the car's engine off and help the victims that were hurt.

"I tried to make sure she didn't move and I tried to talk to her, get her to respond to me and try to keep her mom calm," added Picone.

"I think, if the truck, it came pretty close to hitting the gas pump," said witness, Caleb McKinney. "If that would have ignited or exploded or anything. There was a bunch of people around it at the time and that would not have been good."

4 people were taken to the hospital, 2 in serious condition. The cause of the crash is still being investigated.
