CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - Chesterfield Police say a man has been arrested and charged in connection with the Oct. 8 robbery at Rite Aid, 1104 Courthouse Road.

Aaron M. Trainham, 26, of the 11400 block of Pine Ridge Lane, is accused of robbing a pharmacy clerk and stealing OxyContin at gunpoint.

Police said the masked suspect jumped over the pharmacy counter, displayed a gun, demanded the drugs and fled in a vehicle. A short time later, officers responded to a home to investigate a case in which a man overdosed on drugs.

Police quickly established the overdose victim was subsequently the same man who robbed the pharmacy. Trainham was taken to an area hospital for treatment and has since been released.

Trainham is charged with robbery, possession of controlled substances, possession of a firearm while in a possession of drugs, wearing a mask in a public place and use or display of a firearm in the commission of a felony.  He is being held without bond in the Chesterfield County Jail pending an upcoming hearing in the Chesterfield County General District Court.
