RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - On Friday night our cameras managed to catch 10 high school football games around Central Virginia, and that means we had plenty of plays to choose from while seeking out our nominees for Play of the Week.
Play number one comes from the number one team in the Central Region as Meadowbrook's man with the funky feet, Domico Phillips, takes it 40 yards for a touchdown against number four Dinwiddie. Phillips would find the endzone four times as the Monarchs proved why they're number one with a 56-17 win.
Play number two comes courtesy of number two L.C. Bird who stayed undefeated thanks Donte Meekins, who found a seam on this punt return, and then found the rest of the field for a 60-yard touchdown that gave the Skyhawks a 21-14 lead over number seven Cosby. Bird would go on to top the Titans by that score.
Last, but not least, we go to the Henrico vs. Atlee game where if you like a good solid hit, check what happens to Jerimy Mack as he emerges from the backfield. Credit Hunter Brooks with a knockout shoulder pad -- yes, that was clean -- yes, Scott was okay -- and Atlee was alright too as they advanced to 4-1 with a 19-0 win.
