RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Another week of high school football is in the books, and as always, our cameras were on site for numberous contests, meaning lots and lots of plays were captured. Now, it's time to reveal the three we've nominated for our high school Play of the Week.
Our first play comes from the first play of the Highland Springs vs. Hanover game where Wyatt Johnson made a few spin moves, and got a few blocks before returning the opening kick off to the 7-yard line -- that would lead to a Springers touchdown for a 7-0 lead. Highland Springs went on to a 13-7 win.
For play number two, we go to Cosby and Midlothian, where Bryce Dillon took a short pass from Fuller Hoeppner, made a couple moves, found the sideline, and took off 77 yards for the touchdown and a 7-0 lead. That kick-started the Titans' offensive attack as they went on to win 31-0.
Finally, our third play comes from the Colonial Heights vs. Dinwiddie contest -- late in the first half -- the Generals were thinking endzone when Tyler Drewes was thinking about thievery as he steals the ball away, preventing the score. However, in the end, the Generals would go on to win this one 28-6.
