RICHMOND, VA (NBC12) - The Richmond Police Department has just released the name of the woman who was at the wheel of a GRTC bus that hit and killed a pedestrian.
46-year-old Teresa Jones was arrested and charged with reckless driving in connection to the crash at the intersection of 14th and Franklin Streets on Wednesday.
Police say she has been released until she can appear in court.
No word yet on when that might happen.
Meanwhile, a memorial service was held for the 55-year-old woman who died in that crash.
Friends and family remembered the life of Loucendia Lambert at the Kingdom Hall in Petersburg.
The packed church was standing room only as people from all across the Commonwealth came to pay their respects.
Those who knew her say she was loved by many and that she'll truly be missed.
"It was very shocking news and is very hurtful," said Lambert's daughter-in-law Sasalie Videtto. "I just feel like it was something that didn't have to happen, something very careless. We've been through so much."
Lambert, who worked for the state health department, leaves behind a daughter, a son, and several grandchildren.
