LOUISA, VA (WWBT) - A suspended catholic priest will get to appeal his embezzling convictions in Louisa county.
In January, the Rev. Rodney Rodis was found guilty of embezzling $432,000 dollars, from two Lousia county parishes, while living a double life as a married man.
He was sentenced to 13 years in prison, to be served after he completes a five-year federal sentence in North Carolina.
Now, an appeals court will decide whether Rodis' federal mail fraud and money laundering convictions barred his prosecution on local charges.
No court date has been set yet.
