RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - You might like a dirty martini. But State health inspectors didn't like what they say were dirty martini glasses in one local restaurant. Here's this week's Restaurant Report and what restaurants are doing to fix critical violations.

In Richmond, Tropical Soul at 314 North 2nd Street in Jackson Ward had 4 critical violations. The State health inspector's report says martini glasses, lids, grater and cups were observed soiled to site and touch. Violations were corrected during the inspection and the restaurant had a perfect score on a follow up inspection.

Also in Richmond, McDonald's at 821 Hull Street received 4 critical violations, including employees handling ready-to-eat food with bare hands. Violations were corrected during the inspection and the restaurant received a clean score in a follow-up.

Over in Chesterfield, Shoney's at 9963 Hull Street Road had 4 critical violations. The report says chicken and fish on the buffet were holding at improper temperatures. Violations were corrected during the inspection. The manager says they take inspections very seriously and say this was a good reminder of things to watch for. A follow-up report is not yet available.

And there's reason for fiesta at Mexico Restaurant at 12031 Southshore Pointe Drive in Midlothian! After perfect scores on their last five State health inspections, this Hall of Fame winner is one of 8 family run Mexico Restaurants in greater Richmond that makes good scores and good service a tradition.

Said co-owner Maria Garcia, "Doing it right, getting the best ingredients possible, just caring about your customers."
