CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - The first meeting of Grandparent Connection, a new support group for grandparents raising their grandchildren, will take place Thursday, Oct. 1, 4:15 p.m., in the Chesterfield County Domestic and Juvenile Relations District Court Building.
The free program is being offered by the Chesterfield County Senior Advocate and will provide grandparents with resources, knowledge and support.
"We've gotten a lot of calls from grandparents who are raising their grandchildren," Senior Advocate Debbie Leidheiser said. "They want some support, and they want to meet other grandparents who are in the same situation."
Meetings will be held the first Thursday of each month. Free childcare will be provided onsite during the meetings, and refreshments will be served. For more information, call 804-768-7878.
