Chris Brown fans support new single

By Evrod Cassimy - bio | email

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - "I can transform ya. I can transform ya. Anything you want, I can get it for ya." These are the lyrics in new music from a troubled singer who's been grabbing headlines for his legal problems rather than his music the past 8 months. R&B superstar and Virginia native, Chris Brown, released his new song, "I Can Transform Ya" to airwaves Tuesday.

Fans have been flooding the phone lines at Power 92 FM, expressing their thoughts on the new song. The uptempo dance record quickly became a fan favorite. But after pleading guilty to beating his ex-girlfriend, Rihanna, will fans still support the singer and buy his music?

"Yes, people make mistakes but you can change and he's trying to redeem himself," said Brown fan, Chrysany Collier.

"His personal life doesn't have anything to do with entertainment," added one caller to the Power 92 phone lines. "I buy music for entertainment and entertainment only."

Radio personalities at the station have been playing the record non-stop all day. Despite Brown's earlier conviction, they don't see it stopping his comback.

"You can't stop a good thing," said Power 92 FM producer, Mya Love. "Chris Brown is a heck of an artist. So anywhere that you go I think that they would say the same thing."
