State Fair water lines are repaired

CAROLINE, VA (WWBT) - The State Fair of Virginia has running water again this morning after a broken pipe shutdown part of the water line yesterday.

A spokesperson for the fair says a water line developed a hole around 5:30 p.m. yesterday -- causing a water pump to shut down.

Some of the permanent bathrooms at Meadow Event Park were closed for several hours -- while crews dug 20 feet to replace the damaged pipe.

Organizers didn't have an exact figure of how many people were at the park yesterday -- but they say they were enjoying near record attendance.
